    https://haarphysteria.bandcamp.com/

    Tooth Decay (D)
is a berlin-based musician who borrows heavily from 20th century minimalism, 70s synth kitsch and oldschool sci-fi soundtracks to build beautiful walls of sound that gradually dissolve into fuzz-heavy noise assaults. „Sci-fi ladden weird scientist ambient fueled drone“, as someone once described it.

    https://toothdecay.bandcamp.com/

    I´ve seen Demons (D)
is a band of experimental noise and ritual drone, working in the realm of analog and electronic sound sculptures. Using field recordings, deep bass drones, experimenting with objects like bones, wood, stones and metal.
Trough an exercise of detachment, by focusing on experimenting and working with different sounds, it allows the band to observe the amount of recollections from a serene position. The inner thoughts and memorys of common existential themes, like freedom, choice, anxiety, responsibility, authenticity and ultimate concerns, find an expression in a clear, focused and calm sound landscape. I’ve seen Demons processes the inner demons of human mankind, it’s the quest for quietness, a form of detachment in an urban fast-moving environment. The question of who we are, against the background of our temporal existence.

  • [Article 1733]24.02.2018: Workshop und Konzert The Sounding Box mit Francesca Naibo

    THE SOUNDING BOX
A workshop about prepared guitar and approaching improvisation with Francesca Naibo

    WHAT
The sounding box is a wooden box with strings and a neck. It’s naturally full of air and fills itself up with melodies, memories, sounds, noises, songs.. Time fills it up, experience shapes its form. It’s a collection of sounds and objects, extended appendages that are springs of sonic events.

How can we make this box our own personal sonic treasure chest? How is it possible to deeply express our own voice through material objects and materials? How can we extend the musical vocabulary of one of the most popular instruments? How can we authentically play it without a score?

“The sounding box” is a good opportunity to share experiences, discover new skills and knowledges or try in first person what you can do or still not do on the guitar, but you haven’t had the courage to try yet.

    WHO
guitar players with any background and musical education

HOW_MATERIALS TO BE BROUGHT BY ATTENDEES
The workshop offers individual and group moments with active participation of the attendees. Bring your own instrument, curiosity, imagination and any kind of object, if you’d like to try some sounds you’ve already discovered. Otherwise, some basic useful tools are going to be available to the participants during the workshop.

  • [Article 1723]26.01.2018: Sone (USA/F) – Roland Etzin (D)

    Sone
creates integrated music through a digitally networked instrument using site-specific feedback as the fundamental frequency for an expanded harmonic system. This underlies the tuning and timbre of sine tones and rhythmic structures which are generated in real-time. Their music is a mixture of improvised details within defined compositional forms which establish a nuanced field of sympathetic vibrations, melody, and polyrhythms derived from psycho-acoustic artifacts. They have been working as a duo since first meeting in Paris in 2012, and are currently both based in Berlin.

Bryan Eubanks (b. 1977) is a musician and composer from the Pacific Northwest of the US. He composes electronic and acoustic works for small ensembles, solo instruments, and custom generative software; improvises in collaboration; and, is developing sound installations and diffusion techniques using acoustic holography. Since 2001 he has participated in many collaborative projects and presented his work internationally. Primarily an autodidact, he received an MFA in 2012 from the Milton Avery School of the Arts at Bard College. He has lived and worked in Portland and New York City, and is currently based in Berlin.

Xavier Lopez (1981, France) works in the field of improvisation and electronic music with laptop and analog synth. Classically trained as a piano player, his approach to electronics is autodidact, inspired by a broad range as aesthetics as well as other issues (perception, survival, theory). Mostly performing in collaboration with other musicians/artists, he has presented his work in Europe, the United States, Mexico and Russia.

    Annabelle Playe
Sometimes atmospheric, sometimes noisy, harmonic or dissonant music takes us across states that open the perception we have of the world, others and ourselves. Music is played live based on a device made of analogic synthesizers, filters and effects. Sound is waving between electronic and electroacoustic music, some of them made from different sources (voices, concrete sounds) are processed, put into spaces and mixed to analogic.
